HIRING GUIDELINES:

DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

FENTON FARMS GOLF CLUB HAS A ZERO TOLERENCE POLICY REGUARDING ILLEGAL DRUG USE. All newly hired employees will have to submit a standard drug test before starting to work at FENTON FARMS GOLF CLUB and employees may be subject to random testing after hiring in the Company’s discretion. Individuals who test positive for the use of illegal drugs will not be considered for employment. The Company regards substance abuse, including both illegal drug and alcohol abuse, as a serious medical, business, social and economic problem. It is the intent of the Company to provide a workplace free from the adverse impact of work place alcohol or illegal drug use, and to take reasonable measures to ensure that their use does not jeopardize the success of the Company, or otherwise affect the safety of our employees or customers.

BACKGROUND CHECKS & REFERENCES

Any applicant or employee who is expected to handle company money and finance will be subject to a background check. It is very important to answer the questions on the Application honestly, especially regarding any past criminal record. A prior criminal record does not mean you are not eligible for employment. Any criminal record should be explained during the interview process. The references listed on your application will be called so please include current phone numbers.

SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT

EMPLOYMENT FOR THE VAST MAJORITY OF EMPLOYEES AT FENTON FARMS GOLF CLUB IS SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT. ALL EMPOLYEES MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON (GENERALLY APRIL 15 – OCTOBER 15). NO VACATIONS WILL BE GRANTED DURING THE SEASON. ALL EMPLOYEES WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK ON WEEKEND AND HOLIDAYS. DO NOT ASK FOR MOTHERS DAY, MEMORIAL DAY, FATHER’S DAY, 4TH OF JULY, LABOR DAY OR ANY OTHER HOLIDAY OFF. HOLIDAY ABSENTEE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Any known scheduled absentee requests including holidays must be submitted during the application process, if the permission is granted, it will be noted in your employment file.

AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT

THE COMPANY IS AN AT-WILL EMPLOYER, WHICH MEANS THAT YOUR EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COMPANY IS FOR NO DEFINTE PERIOD, AND MAY BE TERMINATED AT ANY TIME, WITH OR WITHOUT CAUSE AND WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE, AT THE WILL OF EITHER THE COMPANY OR YOU. WORK RULES AFFECTING MINORS

Fenton Farms golf club will hire minors who are at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Company policy dictates that anyone who operates a golf cart must possess a valid drivers license. Anyone 17 years of age or younger must submit a work permit or high school diploma BEFORE they can start work.
