The following job postings are for the 2010 golf season. As a designated seasonal employer our season runs from April 15th, 2010 to October 15th 2010. 1. Active or Retired PGA teaching professional. Must be a PGA member in good-standing. Must have at least 3 years teaching experience and good with children. Applicants with these qualifications should e-mail their resumes directly to:

2. LEAGUE CO-ORDINATOR - Education Requirements: Degree or Pursuit of a Degree in (PGM) Professional Golf Management. Experience: Must have at least two seasons of experience working at a golf course. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Fore Reservations tee-time software is required. Must have great people skills, organization skills and a problem solving skill set.
JOB Description: This position is in charge of all things golf leagues. This person will be the communication channel in which FFGC communicates with the leagues. Responsibilities include (but not limited) to: scheduling, contracting, payment documentation, hosting, serving as 1st & 10th tee starter- Creating a fun and festive environment and conflict resolution. New League creation and league retention is also an element of this job. Compensation: $8 to $9 per hour.
3. THE FIRST TEE CO-ORDINATOR - Education Requirements: Preferred to be in pursuit of a Degree in (PGM) Professional Golf Management. Experience: Two seasons of experience working at a golf course or have reservation / call center customer service experience. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Fore Reservations tee-time software is required. Must have great data processing skill and strong typing skill. Telephone etiquette, people skills, organization skills and a problem solving must be in your skill set.
JOB Description: This position is half telephone reservationist and half first tee starter. This person manages the tee sheets, and welcomes new guests as they enter the grounds, prepares the players cart before their round. This persons checks receipts at the first tee and enters all 4 player’s names into the electronic database tee sheet. They also inform the group of place of play issues, etc.
MUST BE ABLE TO MULTI TASK- perform the aforementioned while taking tee reservations on the phone.
Compensation $7.40 per hour.
4. PRO-SHOP SALES - Education Requirements: Preferred to be in pursuit of a Degree in (PGM) Professional Golf Management. Experience: Two seasons of experience working at a golf course or have sports retail sales experience. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Fore Reservations tee-time software is required. Must have golf knowledge, strong typing skill. The core qualities we are searching for are strong, people skills, organizational skills and sales/goal oriented.
Job description: Open or close pro-shop daily, retail sales and book telephone tee times. Check in and collect payment from golfers, keep golf shop clean, wash and stage golf carts. Keep inventory stocked and looking fresh. Compensation: $7.40 per hour
4. GOLF CART/ Driving Range attendant - Education Requirements: High school diploma or in pursuit of High School Diploma, must be at least 16 years old with a drivers license and a work permit. Experience: Must have solid knowledge of the game of golf. MUST HAVE A SOLID WORK ETHIC.
Telephone etiquette, people skills and organizational skills.
Job description: Wash and maintain the golf cart fleet. Sweep and clean the clubhouse and the outdoor grounds. Pick and clean the driving range and the range golf balls. Assist in bussing tables and cleaning up in the kitchen when needed. Compensation: $8 to $9 per hour
5. FOOD & BEVERAGE ASSISTANT MANAGER - Education Requirements: Degree or Pursuit of a Degree in (hospitality or restaurant management.
Experience: Must have at least two years of current experience working at a restaurant. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel and Micro Sale POS system. Must have solid cash handling skills, inventory control experience, cleaning and organizing skills.
JOB Description: This position reports to the Director of Golf. This person will assist in all facets of the Food and beverage operation. Responsibilities include (but not limited) to: Hosting, fill in as server, preparing sandwiches, soup & salads. Assist in clean up and closing. This persons core focus is to implement inventory control, closing and balancing of nightly cash registers, stocking and un-stocking of nightly beverage cart. Weekly sales to inventory audits. This position works on nights and week-ends Compensation: $8 to $9 per hour.
6. WEEKDAY - Bar/ food service opener (usually Monday- Thursday)
Education Requirements: High School diploma. Experience: Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol in the state of Michigan. Prior restaurant experience & knowledge Micro-Sale POS system is a plus. Must be T.I.P.S certified or will agree to get T.I.P.S. certified within 30 days of being hired. Must have solid cash handling skills, good math skills and excellent personal hygiene. Honest, friendly and outgoing are qualities that are desired.

After all leagues members are finished golfing, this position then assists in all facets of the food and beverage operation. Stocking & Re-stocking of Beer, Beverage and food items. Working cash register and closing out sales at end of shift.
This position accepts Gratuity, which must be reported. Compensation $ 3.50 per hour plus tips.
10. WEEK -END / OUTING - OUTDOOR SERVER (Beverage cart) Sat & Sun.
Education Requirements: High School diploma. Experience: Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol in the state of Michigan. Prior restaurant experience & knowledge Micro-Sale POS system is a plus. Must be T.I.P.S certified or will agree to get T.I.P.S. certified within 30 days of being hired. 11. GRILL Chef / Cook. (PART - TIME)
Education Requirements: Degree or Pursuit of a Degree in (Culinary Arts Experience: Must have at least two years of current experience working as a chef/ cook or caterer. Must have or be willing to obtain “SAFE SERVE” Certification, inventory control & portion control experience is a must. Time management, cleaning & organizing skills are also important.
JOB Description: This position reports to the Director of Golf. This person will be solely responsible for the preparation of all Catering and short order food needs for the golf course while in season. Responsibilities include cleaning of kitchen, restaurant equipment, tracking food inventory levels, maintaining the deep fryers, ovens etc. Compensation: $8 per hour.
VOLUNTEER / INTERNSHIP POSITIONS -
RANGER CORPS: (like the Peace Corps) this unpaid position can be very rewarding. These volunteer rangers comes out for one shift per week, performing the role of “ON COURSE PLAYER ASSISTANCE” helping players to maintain pace of play, assist players with questions etc. In exchange for this volunteer work the volunteer can take advantage of the “employee golf policy” as stated in the FFGC Employee handbook.
UNPAID INTERNSHIP(s): To a current student of a PGM program. JUNE, JULY & AUGUST.
This internship would be an assistant to the DIRECTOR OF GOLF. This would be a great opportunity for a student to get experience in the office & administration side of the golf operations business. Be ready to learn all aspects of preparation and the successful execution of golf outings, tournaments and corporate events, managing leagues and memberships. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Fore Reservations tee- time software is required. Must have great people skills, organization skills and a problem solving skill set.
